Hints & Tips

Just minutes from our hotel, UCSB features a beautiful oceanfront campus close to downtown Santa Barbara and adjacent to the city of Goleta. Well known for its athletics (go Gauchos!), academics, research facilities and 12 national academic institutes and centers, USCB was recently ranked number 9 among all public universities by U.S. News and World Report. UCSB also offers extension and international programs, bringing Santa Barbara to the world, and vice-versa.

There are so many amazing places to eat in Santa Barbara.  While you are here we recommend trying the following:

-Arch Rock Fish Co. at 608 Anacapa Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 offers great fresh seafood dishes and is names after Anacapa island just off the coast of Santa Barbara.

-Palazzio at 1026 State Street  Santa Barbara, CA 93101 is a small bit of Italy right here in Santa Barbara.  Their large portions will send everyone away full!

-Wine Cask at 813 Anacapa Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 catch their chefs at our farmers markets buying fresh herbs and vegetables to be served that night.

-Carlitos at 1324 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 is our managers favorite place to eat. It has inside and outside seating.

-The Palace Grill at 8 East Cota Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 is the best Cajun-Creole restaurant on the West Coast & right here in Santa Barbara.

If you don't want to wander too far away from the hotel, these are some great places to eat closer to us:

-Beachside Cafe and Restaurant at 5905 Sandspit Road, Goleta, CA 93117 has wonderful dishes, a great bar and an amazing atmosphere all right at the local beach.  A favorite of the hotel staff.

-Outback Steak house at 5690 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117 features steak and other barbecue dishes from down under.

-Rudy's Mexican Restaurant  and Tequila Bar at 5764 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117 authentic Mexican food just walking distance from our hotel

-Petrini's Italian Restaurant at 5711 Calle Real, Goleta, CA  93117 is the oldest Italian Restaurant in Santa Barbara. Petrini's is known for their sugar free Italian dressing. Grab a bottle on your way out.

-Takenoya Japanese Restaurant at 5934 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117 is open for lunch and dinner.  The place to visit while you stay at our hotel.

-Fresco's at 5940 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117 Fresco Cafés place emphasis on organic & natural ingredients.
